The Institute of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture is in the process of transforming the historic Humboldt Park Stables and Receptory into a world-class arts and cultural center. Once completed, this will be a unique community asset and a new cultural attraction for Chicago residents and visitors from throughout the nation.

The Project

The renovated three-story, 25,000-square-foot facility will include:
 
A large contemporary exhibition space
A theater and performance space
Classrooms for studio arts and workshops in the creative arts
A café
A museum store
Central courtyard for public and private events
Photography classroom with lab
Curatorial department
Ample parking.

And CSA Group, the largest Hispanic engineering firm with headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

A Combined Campaign
  The "Where Preservation Meets Inspiration" combined capital campaign will raise the funds necessary to renovate the facility and provide start-up funds for operating the Institute.

Campaign Goal
$6 million

Campaign Duration
6 years - July 2005 to July 2010

Pledge Period
Up t o 3 years for gifts under $100,000
Up to 5 years for gifts of $100,000+

Naming Opportunities
The capital campaign includes many naming opportunities for individuals, family foundations or corporate foundations that wish to make a substantial or lasting gift to IPRAC. These include the main lobby, exhibition galleries, arts education classrooms, the amphitheater, museum store, café and administrative offices. Prices vary. Large gifts may be paid over a period of 3 to 5 years. All naming opportunities are reviewed by the Board of Directors and the Capital Campaign Committee.
